The majority of the cynarin found in artichoke is located in the pulp of the leaves, though dried leaves and/or stems of artichoke also contain Cynara which are used to increase bile production. Cynarin, an active constituent in Cynara, causes an increased bile flow.[10] This diuretic vegetable is of nutritional value because of its exhibiting aid to digestion, strengthening of the liver function, gall bladder function, and raising of HDL/LDL ratio. This reduces cholesterol levels, which diminishes the risk for arteriosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Aqueous extracts from artichoke leaves have shown to reduce levels by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase and have a hypolipidemic influence, lowering blood cholesterol.

Every product in fridge including healthy Mayo ~ Margarine ~ sauces ~ shortening and cooking oils.....if it does not say "Virgin" or pressed (extracted at low temperatures) It has been ~ solvent Extraction ~ filtered ~ refined ~ heated ~ Hydrogenated ~ added preservatives and metal contamination. Most has to be refined as from spoiled crops or decay and mold of storage and shippling. It is then refined - bleached - deodorized along with any other formulation blending.
Many of these oils made from industrial waste as cottonseed, mutated corn & soy, Rape seed (marketed as Canada oil Canola) and hydro-tropical’s.
Coconut was widely used till WWII and the war shortage created the corn and other oil business. These businesses marketed and played politics to keep these new industrial oils our choices after coconut was easy available again. Hemp suffered a similar fall when Petroleum and DuPont saw it as to competitive to the emerging plastic business. How easy we are fooled ~ even the answer guys for the industrial oils much like tobacco as we removed trans-fat and more like Low-Tar cigarettes ~ they still are lifeless!
